Israel-Palestine Conflict: The Role of International Broadcasting
The Israel-Palestine conflict remains one of the most pressing geopolitical issues of our time. As tensions persist, accurate information and humanitarian support become critical. NEXUS-IBA’s International broadcasting and IPAR (International Public Access Radio) services have the potential to bridge gaps in understanding, foster dialogue, and bring much-needed global attention to the region.
At NEXUS, we believe in the transformative power of media. Our commitment to independent broadcasting allows us to amplify the voices of those affected and highlight the humanitarian crises unfolding in the region. With platforms like International Shortwave radio to Palestine and digital streaming media, we aim to provide a worldwide channel for awareness and action.
Current Situation in Palestine: A Call for Global Awareness
Despite recent signs of reconciliation, the humanitarian situation in Palestine continues to deteriorate, with millions in need of basic aid. Broadcasting plays a pivotal role in raising awareness about these challenges, from food insecurity to displacement. Radio stations focusing on Palestine humanitarian issues serve as critical lifelines, sharing stories and providing updates on relief efforts.
As a supporter of NEXUS-IBA international broadcasting activities, you can contribute to Palestine’s international support by helping us sustain these broadcasts. Your efforts can ensure that the global community remains informed and engaged.

The Voice of Peace and Abie Nathan: A Legacy of Hope
Established in 1973, the “Voice of Peace” was not just a radio station but a daring and innovative endeavour symbolizing a deep-seated hope for peace in the Middle East. Founded by Abie Nathan (April 29, 1927- August 27, 2008), an Israeli peace activist and former combat pilot, this offshore radio station was moored on a ship off the Tel Aviv coast to circumvent local broadcasting restrictions. For two decades, amidst the turbulence of conflict, “Voice of Peace” consistently broadcasted messages of reconciliation, unity, and mutual respect in various languages, reaching listeners across the political and geographical spectrum.
A Mission Beyond Music
While the “Voice of Peace” was renowned for its diverse international music playlist, its core aim was loftier. Nathan’s vision was to bridge the divisive gap between Israelis and Palestinians and promote dialogue over discord. The station became a haven for those tired of the relentless cycle of violence, providing an alternative narrative that challenged the status quo. Nathan ensured that voices seeking conciliation had a platform by featuring interviews, discussions, and even call-ins. Even though the station ceased its broadcast in 1993, its legacy remains a testament to the transformative power of radio broadcasting in conflict resolution and peace-building.
