Who Was Jesus? A Short Introduction

Jesus Christ was born over 2,000 years ago in Bethlehem. His birth was not ordinary. The Bible says He was born of a virgin, announced by angels, and visited by wise men. His life would soon change the world forever. Jesus grew up in a modest family, worked as a carpenter, and began teaching publicly around 30. For the next three years, He travelled, healed the sick, fed the hungry, and taught about God’s love.

He welcomed people from all walks of life, especially those who were poor or marginalised. He forgave sinners and stood against injustice. His main message was: ‘Love God. Love others. Turn from sin. Trust in Me.’ Jesus also claimed to be the Son of God and said that anyone who believed in Him could have eternal life.

What Happened to Jesus?

Many followed Him, but some hated Him. He was arrested, beaten, and nailed to a cross. He died for our sins so that we could be forgiven. Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead. Hundreds saw Him alive. His resurrection showed that God’s love had conquered sin and death.

Before returning to heaven, Jesus gave this command: “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”  (Mark 16:15)
